MY APPROACH

Philosophy
A Holistic Approach
Symptoms aren’t normal. Most of my clients find me after the traditional medical model has failed them. They have been told that “everything looks fine”, yet they continue to feel terrible.
They haven’t been truly heard and believed or helped. Are you tired and frustrated with all you have done to try to get help? Have you started to believe that your body is broken and cannot be fixed?
Your body is most definitely not broken. It has survived for years under the stresses of modern life. But there comes a point to where the imbalances in the body cascade into feeling exhausted, irritable, and uncomfortable in your body. There comes a time when you get tired of just surviving and want to start thriving!
It’s time to start chasing health rather than managing symptoms. This looks like high energy, an ideal weight, refreshing sleep, a balanced mood, strong immune system and healthy libido. My goal with each client is 100% function and I utilize functional labs to work at the underlying causal level versus just managing symptoms.
I use a holistic approach to bring the body back into balance by focusing on nourishing foods, rest and play, appropriate exercise, internal and external stress reduction and therapeutic supplementation.
HOW I SUPPORT MY CLIENTS
My Approach
There's no one size fits all approach to health.
I believe that each person has hidden healing opportunities in the body and that they look different for each individual. By taking a personalized approach to health and wellness and using functional labs to assess the unique needs for each client, I’m able to create tailored health-rebuilding blueprints according to each client’s bio-individuality.
Accountability is key.
How many times have you tried to improve your health, only to fall back into old patterns and habits and give up or self-sabotage before true success is reached? Hiring a health coach can be the difference in failure or success. Time is something we can never get back, and the reason people hire coaches is because we compress time. I help you get results faster by accurately assessing the hidden connected stressors that are throwing your body off balance, creating a detailed blueprint for how to reach your ideal health vision and having multiple touch points during your program. I walk side-by-side with you, encouraging you, educating you, and holding you accountable to the vision you hold in your heart of what your future could look like if your health changed.
Mindset matters.
The physical body won’t achieve long term improvement if mental and emotional states aren’t also addressed. Chronic stress is the biggest driver in most illness and leads to negative coping mechanisms and self-sabotage. Learning and employing stress management techniques and understanding the roots to bad habits and emotional triggers are just as important to long term success as healing the gut and balancing hormones.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Answers to Your Questions
What is functional nutrition?
Just because something might be a “healthy food” doesn’t mean it is healthy for you. I take an individualized approach to nutrition by utilizing functional labs to determine the ideal foods that help your body thrive. I use nutritional genetic and food sensitivites tests, look at neurotransmitter, vitamin and mineral levels and assess the health of the gut to give each client the ideal nutritional blueprint for her.
How are functional labs different?
Functional labs are designed to find hidden and often connected imbalances in the body. Instead of assessing symptoms or illness, they instead seek out root causes and healing opportunities in the body.
Traditional lab ranges are extremely wide, because guess who gets tested? Sick people! You can fall “into range” for traditional lab work and still feel terrible. If using traditional labs such as standard blood work, I focus on the functional range for your results, meaning the range at which a person feels great.
How do functional labs work?
Lab kits are expedited directly to your home. Samples needed may include: stool, urine, hair, saliva, cheek swab or blood. You collect all samples but the blood draw in the privacy of your home and mail the sample to the lab in the pre-paid envelope. If a blood draw is needed you’ll be given instructions for choosing the lab closest to you.
How do we work together?
Coaching sessions are done via video chat! I work virtually with clients all over the country.
Are results guaranteed?
My programs are an opt-in model of self-care. I assess, educate, motivate, and give clients the tools to succeed. Ultimately though it is up to each individual to work the program created for her and to stay committed and consistent. Small changes daily = big changes over time. Because I cannot and will not micromanage each step of a program, the only one who can guarantee success is the client herself.
How do you define stress?
Stress is any influence, internal or external, that causes or leads to malfunction in the body.
“Health is a state of complete mental, social and physical well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
– World Health Organization, 1948
