Christmas shopping isn’t easy for me these days with three young children. I do most of my browsing and buying online. Online shopping makes my life easier, but I’ve found myself disenchanted with the offerings at big box online stores. If you’re like me, you also might want to support small businesses this holiday season. Since it can be difficult to get out to stores, and some small businesses don’t have a brick and mortar store, I decided to bring the entrepreneurs to you. Welcome to this year’s holiday gift guide where I’ll highlight 5 small businesses I love. Each of these business owners offer beautiful, practical, and unique items that would be perfect for anyone on your list this year.
I’m so excited to share these small businesses with you. I mean who doesn’t love high quality handmade leather items, handmade kid safe and healing skincare, handmade beautiful and easy wear kid’s clothing, genetic testing for your family’s future health, and an absolutely incredible cookbook? Ta dah! All your shopping is now complete. You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy this year’s holiday gift guide.

Fried Bananas Clothing Line
Are you looking for kid friendly kid’s clothes? Need something that’s easy to self-dress, and has fun prints and colors? Then look no further than my friend Melanie’s amazing kid’s clothing line, Fried Bananas. Handmade in Austin, by a mom of 2 boys, one with high functioning Autism, these clothes are perfect for your little guy or gal. She designs the line with little hands in mind, and uses elastic and snaps to make dressing easier.
When I showed my six year old the shirt he was going to model for me, he was ecstatic. His favorite Fried Bananas shirt is not only totally adorable, but holds up perfectly during outdoor play. I also love that it’s made out of organic cotton. I often find boy’s clothes to be rather boring with the same old same old everywhere. At Fried Bananas, though, it’s all such fun and UNIQUE fabric and prints! You can’t go wrong with any of their exceptional hand made products for your little one or any cute kiddo in your life.
You can find the Fried Bananas Shop here.
I have personally used two of the MaxGen Labs genetic tests on myself and my kids for data that helps us live the most healthy lives possible. The information I received connected health dots that had previously gone unsolved, including my own fertility issues. I’m excited to be able make positive changes for my family’s future based on the results, and in all honesty found it to be a life changing experience. I know the amazing person who started this company, and she truly cares deeply about each and every life MaxGen Labs impacts. I also appreciate that your personal information is not sold or distributed in any way, and your DNA sample is destroyed after your test is completed. Find out how to take control of your diet, exercise, and over all health by unlocking the genetic keys that make you unique. A MaxGen Labs genetic test is the perfect gift for your whole family. Give the gift of better health this year.
MaxGen Labs was created out of the need for safe, private, and effective data as it pertains to nutrigenomics, a form of personalized nutrition analysis. By understanding genetic pathways and how they influence diet and lifestyle, MaxGen Labs created a user-friendly report that contains actionable steps. Whether there is potential for vitamin deficiency or gluten intolerance, each report outlines directions on how to eat, use supplements, or seek further professional help. Using MaxGen Labs means finding out how your body functions. If you want to lose weight, optimize your fitness performance, or discover which vitamins you may need, MaxGen Labs has a test for you.

The MaxFitness Panel will tell if you are better as an endurance athlete or need to sprint to build gains. This panel can also tell you about your cardiovascular health as it relates to exercise.
Metabolic pathways include biochemical changes such as methylation and detoxification that create physiological changes in the expression of wellness. Our MaxFunction Panel tests for 80 different genetic mutations that influence every aspect of your health. Using a simple and non-invasive cheek swab, this is the safest, most comprehensive, and most affordable test on the market.
