A Healthy Alternative
I’ve been experimenting with creating recipes that use my delicious dairy free creamer. It’s also fall, and I’m in the mood for sweet fragrances drifting through my house. On cool days the kids get off the bus asking for hot chocolate, but I try to limit sugar as much as possible. Thus the cinnamon tea latte was born. It’s got natural sweetness, the perfect amount of spice, and is super healthy. Cinnamon has anti inflammatory properties, and when combined with the antioxidants in the cloves and raw honey, this dairy free cinnamon tea latte is a kid AND mom pleaser.
Start With a Rolling Boil
Bring four cups of water to a rolling boil and add in cinnamon sticks and whole cloves. Turn the fire off, cover and let steep for 10 minutes. I go through a ton of cinnamon sticks so I buy these organic ones. I use them in my elderberry syrup as well.
You’re Almost Finished!
After it cools a bit, strain out cinnamon sticks and cloves. Add in 2 tbsp of raw honey and stir till dissolved.
Enjoy!
Pour warm tea into a mug and top with dairy free coffee creamer or milk type product of choice. Get the dairy free coffee creamer recipe here.
