Are you chasing health or simply treating symptoms? Something my clients all have in common is that they have tried, often for years, to simply manage their symptoms. Most people don’t do anything about their health until they get a symptom.
Perhaps it starts with needing an extra cup of coffee to get through the day. Maybe you give into sugar cravings to feel a temporary boost (and inevitable crash). Do you find yourself popping ibuprofen to help with weekly headaches? Maybe you need something nightly to help you sleep.
It could even be constant meds for indigestion, reflux or heartburn. Do you try to numb anxiety or depression with alcohol, shopping or food? Is this something that sounds familiar in your own health journey?
Treating symptoms
You might shrug it off or attempt to treat the symptom. You might get back to state of no symptoms, but they often come back with a vengeance. You might even go back and forth between having symptoms and treating them over and over until something chronic and degenerative happens.
You may seek and try many methods for symptom relief, but eventually symptoms come back and new ones may also appear if that’s all you’re doing. Eventually you can end up with a diagnosed condition, possibly severe disease, and even death. That’s what sickness care leads to.
Chasing Health
On the opposite end of the spectrum is chasing health not just symptoms. This includes high energy, a strong immune system and cell protection. My goal for myself and my clients is 100% function in every cell, tissue and organ.
This happens with the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition opt-in model of self-care. I work at the underlying causal level versus just caring about symptoms. To be honest, symptoms don’t really matter because they aren’t the problem. They are simply the result of the problem.
Connecting health dots of underlying dysfunction within the hormone, immune, digestive, detoxification, energy and nervous systems enables me to create an extremely personalized health rebuilding protocol for each individual client. It’s time to ask yourself an important question.
